From Applications to Worldwide Adventures, Gear, and Courses, Find Answers to Common Questions about Rolling Bones Outdoors.

01 - What is Rolling Bones Outdoors, and how does it work?
Rolling Bones Outdoors helps you plan hunting applications, find vetted hunting and fishing adventures, and prepare with the right gear and education. Our technology and Adventure Advisors help you build a plan around your goals, budget, and timeline, with support as you work toward your next adventure.
02 - What is the first step to working with RBO?
Contact the RBO office or connect with an Adventure Advisor. Share what you want to hunt or fish for, your budget, and when you would like to go. We will help you explore your options and identify the next steps for planning applications or an adventure.
03 - What is included in an RBO membership?
Membership provides adventure planning, application reminders, catalog access, and member pricing. Gold adds individual primary-draw application service; Platinum extends service to family applications and secondary draws. Visit our membership comparison page for the full benefits and coverage details.
04 - How much does membership cost?
Annual membership is $100 for Silver, $300 for Gold, and $500 for Platinum. – – Silver primary-draw application service is an additional $45 per species, per state. A Gold Membership includes unlimited states / species for primary draw applications. Your Platinum Membership include family application services for up to 2 adults and children under the age of 18 for all primary and secondary draw applications for unlimited states / species. Review the membership page and discuss your expected service needs with your advisor before choosing a level.
05 - What should I do after becoming a member?
Connect with your Adventure Advisor to discuss your goals and review your member dashboard. Have your hunting history, existing points, preferred species, budget, and travel availability ready. Hunting Applications

Build a Strategy for Opportunities Today and the Hunts You Want to Pursue Over Time.

06 - How does RBO help with hunting applications?
Your Adventure Advisor helps identify states and species, review point strategies, and build an application plan around your goals and budget. Application service coverage depends on your membership. Work with your advisor early to confirm your selections, required information, and payment arrangements before submission.
07 - Does membership include state fees, licenses, tags, or the cost of a hunt?
Membership and application service benefits are separate from the costs of state applications, licenses, tags, and booked adventures. Ask your advisor for a breakdown of the expected expenses before proceeding so you can plan your total budget.
08 - How early should I contact RBO before an application deadline?
Contact your advisor well in advance. RBO’s published internal cutoff for new applications is three business days before the state deadline. Start early to allow time for planning, information collection, and payment coordination.
09 - Does applying through RBO guarantee that I draw a tag?
No. State agencies determine draw results under their own rules. RBO helps you plan and manage applications, but application service does not guarantee a tag or a successful hunt. Your strategy should balance draw opportunities with other ways to get into the field.
10 - Can RBO help if I have few or no preference points?
Yes. Depending on your species, destination, budget, and availability, options may include over-the-counter tags, draws with opportunities that do not depend on accumulated points, and outfitted adventures that do not require a point history. Your advisor can help you explore near-term opportunities while building a longer-term plan.
11 - What happens after draw results are released?
Review your results and connect with your advisor about next steps. If you draw, discuss any required state actions and whether you need outfitter, travel, or gear assistance. If you do not draw, revisit alternative opportunities and your plan for future seasons; availability and costs will vary.

Adventures & Booking

Understand the Experience, the Full Cost, and the Booking Terms Before Committing.

12 - How does RBO vet outfitters and adventures?
RBO evaluates outfitters through firsthand experience, hunter feedback, references, research, and direct conversations with the outfitter. The process helps us understand how an operation runs, what a hunt includes, and what hunters can realistically expect. Ask your advisor about the specific adventure you are considering.
13 - How do I find an adventure that fits my budget, schedule, and physical ability?
Tell your advisor your preferred species or fishing experience, total budget, available dates, and physical capabilities. We will help you compare suitable options and their demands. Flexibility with destination, timing, or trophy expectations can open up additional choices.
14 - What is included in an adventure's advertised price?
Inclusions vary by adventure. Review the specific listing and booking documents for guiding, accommodations, meals, transportation, and trophy fees, where applicable. Before booking, ask for clarification on exclusions such as flights, licenses, tags, gratuities, taxidermy, or additional trophy charges so you understand the total expected cost.
15 - How do deposits, payment plans, cancellations, and refunds work?
Review the payment schedule and cancellation terms for your specific adventure before committing. Ask your advisor whether the Hunt Expedition Layaway Plan (HELP) is available for your booking and what conditions apply. Do not assume deposits are refundable or that a booking can be transferred; confirm the applicable terms in writing.
Before you book
Confirm your dates, physical requirements, inclusions, exclusions, payment schedule, and cancellation terms with your advisor. Your specific adventure documents should guide your decision.

Gear, Courses & Adventure Hubs

Prepare for the Conditions, Build Confidence, and Connect with a Local Outdoor Resource.

16 - Can RBO help me choose gear and prepare for my adventure?
Yes. Talk with your advisor about the terrain, season, weather, and outfitter requirements for your adventure. A gear review can help identify what you already have, what needs attention, and what is missing. Confirm the consultation services included in your membership and review outfitter-specific requirements before purchasing gear.
17 - Where can I shop for gear and learn about courses?
Use your member dashboard to explore the gear catalog and applicable member pricing. Visit the RBO website for course information, or ask your advisor which training fits your goals. Confirm current availability, pricing, and any membership benefits before purchasing or registering.
18 - Can I meet with an advisor at an Adventure Hub?
Contact your local Adventure Hub to arrange a conversation about applications, adventures, or gear. Confirm advisor availability and the services offered at that location before visiting. You can also contact the home office for help connecting with an advisor.
